Hi, I'm Chengen Li. I am a coding student at Franklin high School. I was born in Taisan, China, My Mom and I moved to Portland Oregon in 2009 when I was 4 years old. I lived with my Mom and Dad in the same neighborhood for my entire life in America. My parents brought me to the United States in order for me to have better career and eduction opportunities. Immigrating from another country does come with challeges, like having to adapt to new cultures and learning to speak another language. The first few years in American were very difficult, as I had no idea what people were saying, and the only English words I knew were "hello" and "thank you". Growing up, I pretty much taught myself how to speak English by watching Cartoons and tv Shows. In my household we never had capble tv, so PBS kids and the Qubo channel was my only source of learning and entertainment.
As a little kid, I would always obsess over things like Ultra-Man, PowerRangers, Transformers. I played with toys, action figures, and Legos. My favorite Childhood shows where Tom and Jerry, Dragon Ball Z, Yugioh, Bakugan, Power Rangers, and Many more. As I got older, I would get into sports like basketball and watching NBA games. When I went to day care, I played Playstation 2, xbox, and Nintendo 64th games with my friends. When I was 11, my Parents baught me a Playstation 4, and from that day on, that was my favorite console. The games I play now are Valorant, Brawlhalla, Call of Duty. Other things I enjoy doing are Cooking, and drawing.
